Kathryn Barczi
Delta Fastpitch Association

Kathryn Barczi spent her higschool and college years on the mound in California and Oregon.  In 2009, she moved with her young family to Delta, BC.

Kathryn was an Assistant Coach with the Delta Inferno 2006A team from 2018-2022, at which time her husband accepted the Head Coach position for the Delta Inferno 2011A, where their youngest daughter plays.

Kathryn shares her love of softball by providing pitching lessons, supporting DFA pitching clinics and throws BP for the kids when requested (with the help of Advil Extra Strength).  Kathryn enjoys supporting the Delta Inferno 2011A team as Team Manager and has partnered with 140 Sport to support mental health and youth sport.

Now that the glory days of playing have long since passed, she simply wants to ptovide opportunities for kids and their families to enjoy the sport of softball, spend quality time together in the sun, and finds great joy in watching the kids learn and grow on and off the softball field!

Alana Pooley (Westerhof)
Merritt Minor Softball Association

University of British Columbia

Alana Pooley (Westerhof) grew up in Delta and played softball for the South Delta Invaders and the Delta Heat. She has over 25 years of pitching experience and has a heart full of passion for the game. Alana still plays as a pick up pitcher and doesn't see herself hanging up her cleats and mitt any time soon.

Alana received a scholarship in 2011 to pitch for the University of British Columbia where she played for three years. After university Alana spent a season playing professionally in Europe for Enschede on the Tex Town Tigers in the Netherlands. While in Europe Alana had the opportunity to pitch to the Dutch National team and played for Sweden in the European Cup. In 2018, Alana was asked to go back to Europe and played in the European Cup with Denmark where she was awarded the Top Pitcher award from the tournament. In 2022, Alana played for the Saskatoon Shock, winning the top pitcher award in Nationals.

Alana brings a wealth of pitching experience into her pitching lessons. Currently, Alana is starting to develop some depth in the Merritt Softball Association and excited for the upcoming softball season.  Alana is very passionate about working with and helping out our youth; especially when it comes to enhancing their confidence and level of play.
